If you had the opportunity to speak with every member of your congregation, what questions would you ask, and why?

Every Member
This year, one of my resolutions is to visit every (local) member and constituent in my congregation. My hope is to spend some time talking about each person's relationship with the church (How did they start attending? Why? What have they been involved in?), and also talking about visions/hopes/dreams for the church in the months/years ahead.

Beth,
This is exactly how I have approached it, with the same questions and intent. This year may take a little longer with more members, and spending more time with my family, but well worth it every time. Additionally, remember if they choose not to visit, it is not an indictment of you. Come back to them, they may be waiting to see if you are actually visiting the rest of the congregation. As such I usually let folks self-select first, and then follow up with the folks who did not respond.
